L8T Block

Chevrolet Performance now offers the unique cast iron cylinder block from the L8T 6.6L gas engine that is standard in Silverado HD trucks. It’s a foundation that can be used with LT performance parts to build unique high-performance

engine combinations.

The L8T block is finished with 4.06-inch cylinder bores and uses a 3.86-inchstroke crankshaft in the production engine to deliver 400 cubic inches, making it the largest-displacement engine in the LT family. Its unique casting is designed to optimize strength and engine durability; and it includes provisions for jet-spray piston cooling.

The block is delivered bare, including the six-bolt, cross-bolted main bearing caps, leaving the builder to add the crankshaft and other rotating components to complete the engine assembly.
